COURIER LOFT

The design directives for the Courier Building Loft was to create an elegant yet transformable space. It is the only building in town with windows and views on all four sides of it's top floor, so the client wanted to create a living space without any fixed walls. To solve the need for flexibility, we created walls out of modular cabinets that can be reconfigured to suit various layout needs. The kitchen cabinets are all built as movable furniture.

The space evolves through less and more refinement, from exposed framing and brick to venetian plaster and fine cabinetry honoring the raw but elegant 1867 building.
